Bullet Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP)

I-HELP offers single men shelter, food, and support through the gracious, generous and continued support of over 60 Monterey County churches, synagogues, temples and religious organizations and over 650 volunteers. I-HELP operates two separate programs, one in Salinas and one on the Peninsula.

Area churches, synagogues, temples, and religious organizations cooperate with Shelter Outreach Plus to provide homeless men with hope and opportunity for a better lifestyle by offering nightly shelter, a hot meal, and individualized support. Each evening, the I-HELP vans transport the men from central pick-up points in Salinas and Monterey to a host church where they spend the night. By day, I-HELP's case managers aid the men in job placement and housing assistance, clothing, support and referrals.

I-HELP has never missed a night of offering services for the homeless in its 17+ years of operation.
